Children laughed and played in the mud, while adults enjoyed the rare chance to connect with nature. EVENT | Taiwanese Rice Ball,A Sweet Bite to End June with Warmth
Date: 20th June
Location: SHIBAURA HOUSE @1F
To wrap up June on a heartfelt note, we hosted a Taiwanese rice ball tasting featuring a very special creation: a sweet rice ball infused with aged Matsu rice wine and red yeast paste, delicately blended into sweet bean paste. Lightly sweet with a hint of aroma from the wine, each bite felt like a gentle journey back to the distant, sea-bound island of Matsu. At SHIBAURA HOUSE, guests enjoyed these unique rice balls while listening to stories from Taiwanese friends about life on the remote island. With a glass of island-brewed beer in hand and tales of wind, fog, and a once-militarized coastline in the air, taste and memory came together, evoking vivid scenes of Matsu’s past.It was more than just a tasting, it was a softly spoken story about home, shared through food, drink, and quiet conversation.
